Name of Project: HIV Prevention for MSM
ESERC is currently providing HIV prevention services for Men who have Sex with Men in Enugu and Ebonyi States. After the end of the Global Fund HIV New Funding Model (GF HIV-NFM) which was funded through the Society for Family Health (SFH) between October 2015 and December, 2017, where ESERC was responsible for providing HIV prevention interventions for Men who have Sex with Men in Enugu State, there are still need for continuity of this intervention, this is because, currently, there is no intervention of the MSM in Enugu State and these target group needs continuous intervention and they have built trust and confidence in ESERC.
Activities currently implemented:
- HIV Testing Services
- Condom and Lubricant programming (demonstration and distribution)
- HIV/STIs referral services.
- Post violence one-on-one and family counseling: ESERC is currently carrying out series of one-on-one and family counseling for MSM whose rights are violated by their families, some of these MSM have been ejected from their home by their family members, others by their employees.
ESERC has assisted some of the victims of house ejection pay for an accommodation. These interventions are still on-going both in Enugu and Ebonyi States.
